1. Why this, why now

I spend most of my time on social media breaking down health myths, explaining conditions, and sharing the things I wish more people knew. But social feeds are noisy so you don’t always see the posts that matter, and sometimes nuance gets lost in the scroll.

This newsletter is my way of slowing things down. A space for longer thoughts, stories from medicine, reflections that don’t fit into a 60-second video. The honest, unfiltered side of being a doctor, educator, and someone still figuring things out.

I did create a Substack but have decided to move things over to Beehiiv. I’m really glad I had only written a handful of articles!

2. What kind of community I want to build here

I want this to be a space where health feels human. Where we talk openly about what’s really going on. This means I’ll tell you about the successes & failures I have experienced and will pass on some of the lessons medicine teaches me every day.

I’m not interested in pretending it’s all highlight reels and perfect outcomes (I’ve never even done that with my social media profiles). BUT I want to build a community that values honesty, curiosity, and looking after ourselves and each other.

3. What you can expect

Clarity is important, so here’s the plan:

  • Posts at least once a week: these will include reflections from practice, health explainers, and the kind of conversations I’d have if we were sat across from each other with a coffee.

  • For subscribers: stories from medicine, myth-busting, practical health advice, and reflections on life as a doctor, creator, & business owner.

  • For people interested in research and guidelines: breakdowns of interesting research papers & guidelines that could have a meaningful impact on your health.
